Health Access Nurturing and Development Services
Mission Statement
Kentucky’s HANDS supports families as they build healthy, safe environments
for the optimal growth and development of children.
Vision:
Every child is wanted and cared for in a stimulating and nurturing environment.
The HANDS home visiting program is a voluntary, intensive program designed to assist new or expectant parents at critical development points during the baby’s first years of life. It targets women during their pregnancy to assist with development, parenting skills, health services and other needed resources. Registered nurses, trained professional and paraprofessionals are available to visit with first time Moms and Dads to provide counseling and education. A Growing Great Kids Curriculum is utilized to assist new parents by providing up-to-date helpful information on how to care for the first baby.
HANDS answers these kinds of questions and provide parents with support in developing a parent-child relationship, at no cost to the family.
Who can participate?
What can parents expect?
